Body Contouring
The appearance of the
abdominal section, hips and buttocks can be refined and contoured using various
surgical procedures.
Surgery of
the Abdomen
(Abdominoplasty
or "Tummy Tuck")
Generally referred to as a
"tummy
tuck", an abdominoplasty procedure removes redundant skin
and excess fatty subcutaneous tissue from the abdomen. The abdominal
muscles are also tightened, and this combination may result in a much
flatter abdomen with an improved waistline. Women with stretch
marks from pregnancy may benefit considerably from this operation.

Liposuction
(Lipoplasy /
Suction Lipectomy)
Now among the most popular
cosmetic surgery procedures, liposuction (also known as "lipoplasty"
or "suction lipectomy") sculpts the body by removing undesirable
fat from areas around the thighs, knees, buttocks, waist, hips, abdomen,
chin, cheeks, neck and upper arms. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction
(UAL), tumescent technique and the super-wet technique are among the
various techniques used to provide precise results.
Liposuction is
not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise, but the procedure can eliminate
areas of fat that are unresponsive to typical weight-loss methods.

Thigh Lift
While we often think that
visible signs of aging are confined to the face, thighs are also
commonly affected. Deep supporting structures become lax,
resulting in sagging of inner and outer thigh skin. This results
in localized skin excess in the upper thighs, combined with dimpling in
the upper and mid-thighs. Thigh lift procedures can change this appearance
and some people combine this with a tummy tuck to achieve a more
harmonious "body lift".
