Luis Carvalho, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Luis Carvalho, a graduate of the University of Sao Paulo Medical School in Brazil, served his internship and residency in General Surgery at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  He established his practice of plastic surgery in Toledo, Ohio in 1980 and has been a practicing surgeon in the Toledo area since that time.  Dr. Carvalho passed the exams for the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1981, becoming a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.  He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.  He was accepted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, by that prestigious organization.  Dr. Carvalho also is an active member of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery, and belongs to the Ohio State Medical Association and The Academy of Medicine of Lucas County.  Dr. Carvalho is part of the medical staff of all Toledo area hospitals where he practices the reconstructive part of plastic surgery, and is the medical director at the Center for Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, in Toledo, where most of his Cosmetic operations are done.  Dr. Carvalho is married to Leila Carvalho and has 3 children; Daniela, Eliana, and Leandro.  He is an avid tennis player and a fan of all sports and outdoor activities.  He insists on a healthy mind and body.  Other interests include music, classical and jazz are favorites, and he plays keyboard and piano.
